Aquatic Therapy Boot Camp (4-Hr Class)

Description:

This course is designed to serve as a fast-paced, introduction to aquatic therapy fundamentals: precautions, benefits, techniques, equipment use, treatment options, and best practices. Strongly recommended to all aquatic therapy and fitness facilities as the perfect overview of aquatic therapy and exercise. This course is also required for our Aquaticist℠ certification. The video works well for self-paced at-home study or as four 1-hour increments as lunch-n-learns for your staff. The manual is 117 pages and expands on everything taught in the video elements.

Target Audience - PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and other aquatic professionals.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Describe 3-4 hydrodynamic or thermal properties of water 

2. Describe 1-2 exercises based on each of these properties of water. 

3. Describe 1-2 aquatic handling techniques for individuals with an impairment, disability or functional limitation. 

4. Identify 1-2 aquatic specialty techniques and where to obtain more information 

5. Identify 2-3 types of aquatic therapy equipment and 1 job that equipment can be used to do.

6. List 3-4 precautions or contraindications that are specific to the aquatic setting.
